I am experienced in many different crafts,
including embroidery, patchwork, felting,
quilting, lead-lighting, sewing, scrap-booking, decoupage,
and cloth doll making. After attending a polymer clay doll making workshop, I became hooked on working in this medium.
After initially just making faeries, my work has included pirates, elves, historical figures, Santa, culturally inspired figures and many more. I have exhibited at Warragul Rotary Art Show, Leongatha Rotary Art Show, Korumburra Art Show, Meeniyan Art and Craft Show, and Tyers Art Show. In 2011, I was the “feature” artist at Tyers Art Show. I have received a “Highly Commended award in 2007 and 2008, a prize at Meeniyan in 2009, First Prize at Tyers in 2010 and 2011 and an Honourable Mention at Art Gippsland, 2011.
I am interested in the mythical and mystical aspects that can be portrayed in both the polymer clay creations and fabric sculptures.
Wanting to extend my knowledge of working in other media, I undertook an Accredited Workshop Instructor Training Course, to be able to demonstrate the amazing results of working with this product. I am now the Master Trainer for Victoria, teaching those who which to take their passion for fabric sculpture to the next level by becoming Trainers themselves. I also have Certificate IV in Assessment and Workplace Training.
After many years in the Disability and Community Services Sector I decided it was time for a change, and am pursuing my love of art and crafts (and blowing bubbles on the beach).
