Another great day in the studio. I had the pleasure of working with Wendy today, exploring all that you can do with PowerPrint. Wendy chose one of my photos, taken on a textile tour of Thailand two years ago. Below are photos to take you through the process of putting a photo onto canvas. From preparing the canvas and photo with PowerPrint, to what the canvas looked like with just the photo, and then the final result. Wendy painted in some additional foliage and used balsa wood to create slate pavers in the foreground of the painting. It was then finished off with some Stockinette, dipped into Terracotta Powertex. Wendy had not painted before, but I am sure you will agree that she has done a wonderful job. Certainly makes me want to go back to Thailand!

Well, Christmas for 2014 is done and dusted and we are back into workshops in the New Year. I had a fabulous day on Saturday, working with Linda and Joyce in making two beautiful sculptures, pictured below. Linda has done several shops with me over the years, previously creating a Sitting Lady and a Chinaman. This time she bought Joyce, who is holidaying down from Queensland, to join us. I think they have done a beautiful job. The red just looks stunning. And yes, I should have removed the cling wrap before photographing!! Some photos from throughout the day are below, to give people an idea of what the studio space is like. I will be teaching mainly from home this term. As mentioned in the previous post, I am still having a few problems with my back/hip, so am staying closer to home for workshops.I have a PowerPrint workshop happening this WEDNESDAY, 14th JANUARY. Just email or phone if you would like to attend The "Arty Party" special is still available. Bring along four of your friends to any workshop and get yours for FREE. Book here |
