Well we are home from the Fair - what a fabulous four days! Exhausting, but so much fun; and what a delight to be surrounded by such good people. Powertex certainly attracts a lot of interest. People have been fascinated how the artwork on display has been produced and then amazed at how easily the pieces can come together. We have all been so fortunate to meet such lovely people visiting the stand - interested in Powertex or perhaps who joined us for a workshop over the event. There has been lots of laughter and creativity happening on the stand, and some great feedback that we were the friendliest stand, all so happy to spend the time with people, chatting about the product and comments about our level of enthusiasm for what we do! For us, it is great to see such fabulous work being created in the workshop and one of the things I just love about taking the workshops. And then there is the Victorian Powertex Team! Thank-you so much to Val, Sharron, Jan, Marg, Bev and Joy, our wonderful Victorian Powertex Trainers, who helped us on the stand and of course, to Ash and Mark, the Australian Importers of Powertex for arranging to have the stand at the Fair. To cap it off, I got to call the winner last night of the $250 of Powertex products, part of our special draw. The winner, a lovely lady from Berwick, said "she never wins anything", and was so excited. And now to spend the day with my grandchildren - I have missed them so much over the last few days!

I would like to welcome all of the new likers to the Facebook page. I can remember how excited I was when it got to 100 likers and now we are headed to 1000!! 965 to be precise. Follow this link and pop over to the website too! All of the new workshop information is there, as well as an online booking form to stream-line the process. What a productive weekend it has been. Boxes packed, suitcase kind of half-packed, sculptures and art work ready to go to the Craft and Quilt Fair at the Exhibition Centre in Melbourne. Thanks to Val for helping yesterday with the wrapping of the artworks and to Tina, my sister in law for sorting the wine bottles for the pop-up workshops that will be happening during the Fair. Not quite the 60 required, but then there is always dinner each night! If you come to the Craft and Quilt Fair, be sure to drop by the Powertex Australia stand. Meet some of the other Powertex Trainers in Victoria : Sharron, Val, Joy, Bev, Jan and Marg. There will be workshops happening all day. A great opportunity to try the fabulous range of Powertex products. I have just had another great weekend training, as Bev Fothergill, from Craigieburn, completed Level Three and Four of the Certified Powertex Trainer Course. Bev's work is just beautiful. Her painting skills with her PowerPrint Level 4 piece are fabulous!! Knowing that I had a bag of dried flowers "somewhere under a spare bed", discovered all kinds of goodies in a bag that I had forgotten about,, to help Bev finish of the foreground on her PowerPrint - expect lots of work with dried flowers over the coming weeks!! Next weekend I will be at the fabulous Hanging Rock market, with Craft Markets Australia. Haven't done this one before, and am looking forward to the weekend away as well. Congratulations Bev!! |
