Over the last few days I have been making a few different things for the market at Hanging Rock on Sunday. Some candle holders, Yin and Yang inspired sculptures, Buddha candle holders and some new wall art. A nice change!! I will have to take photos of the other things on Sunday, as they are already packed into the van. For anyone after a great day on Sunday, the Hanging Rock Market should be fabulous. Hope the rain stays away!! Lots of stall holders and of course, Hanging Rock as the most spectacular backdrop for this market. For more information, link to the Craft Markets Australia page here.

Faeries with Attitude will be at the Quilt and Craft Exhibition in Warragul with lots of new sculptures and the fabulous range of Powertex Products. There will be demonstrations each day and also a series of 1 hour workshops so you can discover the amazing versatility of Powertex.
Over the weekend there will be the opportunity to make your own tea-light holder, an elegant masquerade wall plaque, see demonstrations on how to use PowerPrint, the fabulous photo transfer medium, a variety of mixed media products and techniques, and of course sculpture demonstrations!! Have just said good-bye to another two sculptures. These two have been made from a wedding dress belonging to someone's Aunt. The smaller of the two is for the Aunt's 90th birthday - I hope she likes it. My lovely surprise while making these two was that at I was pulling the dress apart, some confetti fell out from behind the waistband. Faded, but so special, when you think of all the memories that would have been attached to the dress. Just a bit sentimental, but using fabric from clothing worn at special occasions or that has special significance, is a fabulous way of creating a really special sculpture. When I first started making fabric sculptures, I had used a Thai silk maternity dress, that I wore when having our son, (who is now 33) to make a geisha. |
